Dutch language lessons
You live in The Hague but do not speak the Dutch language
adequately.
You would like to learn Dutch, in order to be able to use it in everyday situations like buying groceries, going to the doctor or speaking to your child's school teacher..
What can Stichting Ontmoeting met Buitenlandse Vrouwen (Foundation for Meeting Foreign Women) offer you? The OBV can tell you about ways for you to learn Dutch.
The OBV offers language courses at home or on locations close to your home.
They can also advise you about finding another language organisation more suitable to your situation.
For 6 to (a maximum of) 12 months a volunteer visits you at home to teach you Dutch. The lessons are once a week and take about one to two hours.
When the course is completed you receive a certificate. The OBV can also provide a follow-up course or help you to find one. When you apply for a language course at home, you first have an interview. We assess your language level and decide whether or not the OBV lessons are suitable for you.

Group activities
The OBV also organizes group activities for women at a location close to your home. The Dutch lessons are given twice a week and take one and a half hours. For a maximum of one year an OBV volunteer gives Dutch lessons to a small group of women (maximum: eight).
